Local Mission

Wellington Church exists because of the work of God’s marvelous grace in each of our hearts; therefore, we seek to fulfill the purpose for our calling by faithfully pursuing all He has commanded. This is our motivation for taking seriously the commission of Christ to:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all things I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matt. 28:19-20

Local Hispanic Church

August, 2, 5, 7, 9 volunteers join together with this local church to do a Vacation Bible School for the kids. You can help one night or all 4 nights. If you cannot go you can still give to help purchase supplies and materials.

Main Street Baptist Church

We have come along side this church in downtown Lexington to participate in compassion ministry to meet the needs of those in our community both physically and spiritually. We assist Main Street by serving in the food ministry on a couple of Tuesdays each month as well as by donating items for the pantry and clothing ministries. This is an ongoing ministry and you can become involved at any time. If you would like more information please contact Kevin Cooper.

The Christmas Store

Each year during November and December Wellington Church ministers to families of Harrison Elementary School through providing gifts which include basic physical needs as well as toys for kids.

Half-Way Home Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to share the Gospel with and minister to the men staying in a downtown Lexington Halfway Home.  The home is a place where men who are just out of jail, in the middle of rehab, or in a transitional period live while they get back on their feet. Once a month, members from Wellington Church provide a meal for the men in this home and develop relationships with the residents. They use the evangelism training that Wellington offers to witness to these men and try to provide them with counsel as they struggle through different issues.  We also meet some of their physical/material needs as a way to demonstrate the love of Christ to them. If you would like more information please contact Brent Walker.
